Purpose?
Coordinating research around P2PU
Coordinating research about anything
If P2PU is a research hub, should it be organized as its own separate division, or as sub-groups under existing schools (a fourth kind of course, a research collaboration), tagged with research, so that all the research projects at the site can easily be automatically listed.
Collaborate with field-specific journals/conferences in trying to promote research happening as a normal part of a course to be developed further and published (these are OA journals who would welcome submissions from P2PU in this area... etc).
Some journals require you to choose your own peer-reviewers, perhaps encouraging P2PU community members to sign up as editors with relevant journals, and being available to review papers from P2PU courses.
School of Research Methods (incl. statistical analysis etc) which is connected with and contributes to real research projects (ie homework is analyzing some open data from a research project on P2PU etc)
Stian owns the owning.
Concrete tech proposals
- Currently courses can be tagged, but there is no easy way of seeing all the tags (should be exposed on the main course list page). Also, each tag page should have a text field. This way, we could have research collaborations as part of different schools, and have them all show up under /tag/research, and also have a group-editable text field linking to different research resources etc. (Stian tell Zuzel)
- Add a fourth kind of group: research collaboration: mockup (Niels)
- Add "Research on Open Education" to this page http://p2pu.org/en/pages/get-involved/# - initially link to wikipage (Stian tell Zuzel)
On the wiki:
- Find a good tool to collaboratively create a bibliography of research articles on open education. Machine-readable metadata. Free, easy to use. Embeddable. (Stian)
- Discuss this here [[Research tool]]
- Once we have the tool, collaboratively create a bibliography of research on open/peer learning/education. (Stian)
- Identify probably relevant journals or other publication outlets for research from P2PU (Maria)
- Do a quick survey of people who have already done research on P2PU, about what kind of support they would. (Niels)
- Dani will reach out to research labs in Latin America and discuss research on/through P2PU.
