Community is the soul         and why of p2pu, the organization has been grow very fast and needs         new ways of  managment and  strategies accordingly.
        
The p2pu ambassadors         program give to our volunteers a set of tools and a work process to         become official representatives in their country, university or         region.
        
In  the community         call, we listen about good initiatives around the world, and ways to         try to contact and share these with the world trough a challenge, a         course ...,  several times we say, cool idea with some changes, we         could generate a local project and do good stuff. But we dont know         about all the amazing and cool projects in all the world, if we had          several people contacting this, persons or organizations we can         generate bridges between these and p2pu learners or between them.

---Purpose          

The Ambassadors         Programm give to its members the opportunity of having an official         role into P2PU, doing things easier to them: organize or attend to         events, recruit and be mentors of new workmates and help new         regional communities created in this first generation of P2PU         ambassadors.
        
Working with people         with different skills,interests, from different countries, and in         these          
        
 exist other persons         working in other cool stuff, that have something to learn or         something to teach (to share) we can create knowledge networks, and         our  ambassadors could be bridges in that  network, in a local or         global way.

        Anti-Purpose          
        
Here are some things         P2PU Ambassador specifically aims NOT to do :
                         

• replace or                 undermine efforts by existing communities of P2PU volunteers around                 the world to recruit new contributors
•                 
• become a top-down                 ambassador program run exclusively by P2PU staff
•                 
• be only an                 evangelism program.
•         

        

Responsibilities of a   P2PU ambassador (pending)
        

        
        
represent P2PU in your         own country/region.
        

• promote our mission       
• promote the courses         and look for new ones, with regional teachers, universities,         institutions, peers and media.       
• localize good learning         initiatives, projects and good people that have something to learn         or teach.        
• dynamize the contact         between other  projects that share objectives, or people that wanna         start an activity using a project based in other city,country. the         ambassadors acts as the first contact between these.

Applications          

Although anyone can         apply to be a P2PU ambassador, it doesn't guarantee the direct         entrance to the programm;
        
we must make sure that         our ambassadors will achieve all the new resposibilities, the         possibility to ask for monetary support to         activities related to the community, look for strategies in order to         get donations and receive the ones localy produced and, off         course to praise P2PU as official representant. That is why every         single application must be carefuly by the group of P2PU ambassadors         and be exposed to a simple interview before being a P2PU ambassador.

Application process

1) any member from the         community can be an applicant, much better if is someone who is         already involved in P2PU  in one way or the other and wants to         become an official representative. Someone who is unfamiliar with         P2PU and/or has never contributed to the project before, is of         course free to apply but will probably not be selected for the         second round interview.
        

        
        
2) The application         process involves filling out a simple form on the Ambassadors page         (???). the information sent in the web form, will be analyzed by         someone in the regional ambassador team (see regional ambassadors         team) , who will communicate the state of the application, if the         information of the appicant is enough the applicant  be interviewed         in the irc of p2pu.          
        
3)if the interview is         a success, the applicant will be contacted later and be informed         about the desicion of the interviewer.
        
4)if the  interviewer         decision  is positive, the data of the new ambassador will be         uploaded to the p2pu ambassador's site, otherwise the applicant  be         notified about the desicion, why not was aproved, and what need for         future applications.
                         

• The new                 ambassador  is walked through the different Ambassador tools and                 responsabilities and process to do a good representative job by                 his/her mentor and is asked by his/her mentor to create a P2PU                  User Profile Wiki and sign up to the main Ambassadors mailing list.

        Structure and Governance
        

The structure of the         P2PU ambassadors program  is simple, the program is a community         driven activity, and with this we wa nt ensure the program succes         and its continuity.
