- What's this?
- There has been a lot of discussion about OERs in the UK in the mainstream media in the last couple of weeks. The Wellcome Trust (2nd biggest NGO funder of medical research in the world) has just launched an Open Acces journal but it's also part of a bigger conversation taking place in UK Higher Ed.

Agenda
Core of the call. Focused on four types of conversations (invited guests, challenges you need help with, proposals you want feedback on, ideas you need collaborators for).
- P2PU Strategy Scenarios -
- MAIN NOTES: http://pad.p2pu.org/p/lab-notes
- We have a board meeting on the 23rd, and one topic for the meeting is to revisit the strategy for P2PU, and dig in to the strategy
- See lab notes pad for the "History of P2PU" background
- What we're realising:
- We know we don't have all the answers for a lot of the questions that keep emerging in the space.
- Harder to win as a consumer-facing platform (often compared to for-profit set-ups, which are not 100% the same as us) and tensiorn arises from these.
- Important to note that many of the people who were originally involved are still around, as well as the wonderful newcomers
- Discussion for today is to try and articulate what P2PU is (or might be) without getting hung up on the terminology.
- We're good at imagining what things can look like, but we're also really interested in building them (or parts of them) along with a community of subject innovators.
- Lots of little boats and a big boat where we eat dinner.
- And we have patrons (which probably means Philipp is the court jester)
- how to take cool ideas we come across and go beyond just thinking about them - taking action on them, experimenting
- Scenarios:
- Process: we look at them, ask if they feel right, see if they help us succeed at the big picture level?
- RESPONSES TO THIS ARE VERY LONG, AND VERY INTERESTING. PLEASE LOOK AT THE OTHER PAD FOR ALL THE NOTES & DISCUSSION
- Research of the Week: Carol Dweck--Intelligence is Malleable
General discussion and questions
- Anything else that just needs to be said out loud
- "research corner" FTW!!
