Discussion
P2PU Staff Q&A - you turn to ask us any question about anything we do.
Everyone: How are we liking HipChat?
- <3 I like that we are dishing
- I'll throw in a fractured thumb (it's halfway up)
Vanessa: What's the best yoga studio you've been to?
Bekka: What's the recipe for that amazing cake you posted on Instagram recently?
Dirk: How is your wrist?
Erika: Can you say Ljulblijana?
- The question is can you say it?
Everyone: There was some concern in Boston about too many standing meetings (that are unproductive). How is that going?
- VMG: there are a lot of meetings still, but I'm learning to live with them
- Dirk: Most of the meetings are pretty good at the moment - but there are a lot.
- Erika
Who always fills in the community pad template? Bekka
From VMG:
@Erika: Do you have a revised approach to design now that you've been working on front-end stuff for a while? What is it?
- short answer: no :)
- Long answer: blah blah blah, some hippy sh*** , <3
@Dirk: Which technical skill should every P2PUer know/be able to do?
- github + HTML
- I'm teaching myself to do that as we speak! word!
@Bekka: We've talked about our theory of learning--what's your theory of community?
- leave them alone and hope they don't kill each other - keep bananas out of your hair
@Philipp: Which P2PU staffer is the most difficult? (Me! MEEEEEEEE!!!!)
From Erika:
@Dirk: How do you find your development process now that you moved (e.g. more difficult to focus, you could sit on a footstool and develop, is all the same to you,...)
- A bit more challenging, but ok in general. It depends more on the work that needs to be done. When I know what to do I don't struggle to focus
@Vanessa: How do you do the multitasking and jump from project to project in a span of minutes and manage to buy a dress or two (I have not been shopping for ages, so it is a serious question)
- ADD :)
- more chalenging to figure out role in different projects
@Bekka: How do you approach solving problems that are "scary" to you (e.g. editing reports directly on github, telling Philipp he is wrong,...)
- Tech stuff is not scary - and if it breaks EP will fix it :)
- Try to not be too emotianally attached to it
@Philipp: do you lose any sleep over P2PU (staff or otherwise) or you just belive that everything is going to be fine even when problems occur?
@Everyone: What is the most "heavy" problem that met you while working with P2PU (e.g. I find the lack of contact sometimes gets me in peril creative wise, which gets me stuck with the work I am doing)
From Dirk
@Erika: when do you normally focus best
- not in the morning, trying to avoid the night
@Vanessa: what part of what you do would you rather not do?
@Bekka: do you feel like the community calls informs you enough about whats happening in the tech? (EP)And how deep you want to be informed at all?
- Not from the community call, but from the tech call notes yes
@Philipp: do you prefer a maker schedule or a manager schedule?
@everyone: did we fall out of love with discourse?
HAS COMMUNITY FALLEN OF THE BUS?
