Community is the heart of P2PU. We are seeking a sociable, community-minded individual to serve our community of life long learners. The right person for our community has a knack for supporting people and projects, lives on the web, and is passionate about innovating the future of education.

About P2PU - Why we're here and how we're changing the world:
- P2PU is an online community for learning anything with your peers. We're recognized as a 501(c)3 non-profit public charity in the United States.

Responsibilities - How you'll spend your time:
- Happy community
- Support our community of learners by facilitating their "first 30 days" at P2PU, directing them to resources, developing help content, and fostering community discussions. Attentiveness and problem solving are key.
- Represent the "typical user" in design and UX discussions to shape the development of the platform.
- Manage the weekly community call.
- Take the temperature of the community, chime in when needed to maintain good spirit, motivation, and enthusiasm.
- Occasional event planning for community workshops / meet-ups.
- Better courses with active users
- Work with the Learning Lead in guiding community members through the course design and assessment process. Connect course designers to resources and communitites of interest.
- Act as overall curator of courses on P2PU. Promote good courses, help bad ones get better, get rid of spam.
- Promote P2PU courses individually and through larger promotions like "rounds of courses"
- Grow the P2PU community
- Use social media to get the word out and draw people in. Represent P2PU at meetings and conferences.
- Actively showcase the work of the P2PU community to the world by developing and maintaining our presence on the web through our blog, email newsletter, social networks.
- Act as first point of contact for communication coming into P2PU.
- Occasional project management and writing for special projects, including grant applications.

Requirements - You should have most or all of the following:

- Ability to work remotely, with good internet connection and flexibility for synchronous meetings. Coworkers are distributed around the globe.
- Previous experience in a supportive role.
- A strong presence on the web and social networks.
- Focused and self-motivated.
- Ability to communicate in English.
Bonus Points - Not necessary, but highly favorable:
- Previous contributions to P2PU.
- Ability to communicate in Spanish, Chinese, or other languages.
- Previous involvement with community and alternative learning groups a plus.
