Why are we doing this?
(other than video +learning being massively popular and succseful? kahn academy, ted, instructables)
Well alot of the assessment work we are doing talks about evidence centered design > showing to others how you make sense of a concept as a way to better understand it. I think video tutorials are a very popular medium and p2pu would benefit from having some. And our challenge could seed new challenges that include videos...
First Ideas
- Get someone from TEDx, RSAnimate, or even Sal Khan to kick it off by creating short videos of their own explaining how to create an awesome instructional video.
- Involve Instructables
- Involve Vi Hart
- Involve big OER players who are working towards content creation (CC, OER foundations, OCWC to publicize/promote)
- Look ar http://vimeo.com/videoschool
- Encourage HTML5 compatible video
- Universal Subtitles
- Advertisement-free, possibly 501(c)(3), hosting
